Check out our latest product update: ability to add comment to your prompt.
At Prompt Studio, we're constantly working on expanding our features to support your prompt engineering process. Our latest update gives you the ability to add comments to your prompts in the Promptbook editor. This feature is particularly valuable for sharing and reusing prompts across your organization.
Why to use comments in a prompt?
Comments offer a way to clarify or annotate specific parts of your prompts, helping others understand the underlying logic and purpose. They serve as guidelines for team members working with shared prompts, supporting collaboration and scaling in teams tackling complex prompt chains. Additionally, comments are invisible to the language model, making them ideal for drafting prompts that should be ignored during generation.
To add comments in your prompt, just select the "Insert" button or type "/" directly in the prompt area. From the menu, select "Comment" and begin typing. Once ready, press "enter" to exit comment mode.
What’s next?
While comments are a useful addition, they're just the part of a larger update coming to Prompt Studio. A variety of elements, such as placeholders and snippets, will be available for you to add to your prompts in the future. These additions will allow you to enhance your prompts with contextual details, quickly modify the content, and create reusable templates, helping you to establish best practices for prompt engineering in your organization.
